We would prefer to see a proposal before you send us the final manuscript of your book. If you need a template to work from, here are some sample proposals you can use for reference.
Please include the following in your cover letter/email:
- Title of your book
- Your real name
- Your physical mailing address
- Your email address
- Approximate word count
Send us your complete, finished manuscripts in digital format. Please use a standard book manuscript format when you submit your book to us. If you’re not sure what a standard format is, here’s a good source. Professionalism matters.
Please submit the complete manuscript in .DOCX, .RTF, or .ODF format to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you also attach a version in MOBI format, it will probably get reviewed by our editorial team more quickly.
We accept book proposal submissions all year long.
We try to acknowledge receipt of your manuscript within 7 days. We’ll also try to let you know whether we are interested in your book within 30 days. Both of these periods may vary, though, depending on the number of proposals or manuscripts that we have received during that time.
Please do not contact us about the status of your proposal or manuscript unless at least 30 days have passed since we acknowledged receiving it. If you did not receive a acknowledgement, though, please feel free to contact us.
Are You Self-Publishing?
Are you planning to self-publish your work? Or preparing it for submission to a mainstream publisher? We can help. Please visit our Self-Publishing page to see the services that we offer to authors interested in self-publishing their own work.
